To prevent loss of valuable operational and ‚’soft‚’ competencies of mid-career workers where the elimination or reduction of work in a number of sectors of the economy has been accelerated by the pandemic.
In doing so, to:
# Support government aspirations and initiatives to reduce levels of unemployment and maximise post Brexit and pandemic opportunities
# Provide employers with skills in short supply, complemented by seasoned soft skills, and
# Avoid negative financial and psychological damage to individuals and the families of displaced/redundant employees
# Reduce burden on NHS in dealing with mental health issues as a result of job losses and financial hardship.
