General Practice has had to introduce remote working and video consultations at short notice. The pandemic has encouraged patients to accept a new way of working which many might have rejected prior to the crisis.
While this has benefitted those who are IT savvy and have access to the technology, it will have been less useful for the needs of housebound elderly or frail patients.
There is an opportunity to increase the success of video healthcare in this group while simultaneously reducing unnecessary GP/nursing interventions resulting primarily from frailty and/or confusion.
