The Covid pandemic caused a change in lifestyle for many people with a vast reduction in conventional High Street shopping along with a concomitant rise in internet shopping. The necessity to stay at home provided great opportunities for local shops and services. There is evidence that there was also a move away from big cities towards more countryside housing for those that could afford it. We now find ourselves in a situation where working from home is the new normal and many people are not keen on a return to the daily commute, having proved to themselves and their employers that they can work effectively at home. The key challenge is how to respond to this change in lifestyle.
