During the pandemic children are having the learn online at home and are socially isolated. This is a challenge to the children, the parents, and society generally as it impacts children’s social development and their learning more generally.
There is a clear need to address the implications of children (and their parents) being locked-down in the short-term and in being more socially distanced in the longer term, as society adjusts to new behavioural norms and increasingly works online.
The education system was never designed to address the needs of the 21st century skills, online working and in particular online learning and its social impacts.
