An opportunity to retain online GP appointments, via all the technology available. In my own experience, and reports from others this has proved extremely successful. It saves time and effort for the patient and time and other resources for the Doctors and Surgery staff. It would reduce the delays when emergencies arise, frustrating for the Medical Staff and annoying for the Patients. Also the Surgery where I attend always publish the number of missed appointments, as a reason why so few appointments are available and making at least 90% of consultations on line should alleviate this further waste of resources.
Of course, face-face consultations MUST be available, but as often as possible triaged electronically or telephonically
