Help for the elderly to circumnavigate cash payments in the time of Covid-19

The Covid 19 crisis led to most shops only accepting card payments due to the extra hygiene risks of handling money. This created a problem for the elderly population who are less likely to have a card and rely on paper money. A popular story was that of a bakery worker who accepted cash payments from elderly customers who needed to buy bread and paid for it using her card. She was fired because it was against her employer‚’s policy. This creates an opportunity to introduce simple preloaded cards for the elderly. They can load these cards via the Post Office or via machine carried by the Postman/Postwoman who visits their house each day.
