This presents an opportunity for British manufacturing to grow and fill this gap. This would create new skilled jobs, many of which could be in the traditional manufacturing heartlands on the United Kingdom helping to close the North South divide and support those communities hardest hit by the pandemic. This will require a cultural shift in both the UK consumer and Government to support British made. This needs to be done whilst avoiding the traps of accepting lower quality, but brash made, or ignoring British made if the company is foreign owned.
