Test and trace: a phenomenal waste of money?

Test and trace – a rather controversial government promoted system to help tackle the pandemic which cost staggering amounts of tax payers money, been slammed for being inefficient, continuously missing set targets and often times simply useless. However inefficient and faulty in terms of helping us battle the pandemic, the system has been developed, used and already cost obscene amounts of money. There are calls for government to stop providing funds for it and for it to “wean off”. That would just be money simply wasted. That would be time spent on developing it wasted. Is there a way to re-purpose it so that whilst it may have not achieved the goals it was designed for, it could still be used for something good and change lives?
