Ventilation rates in homes are known to be inadequate

Ventilation rates in homes are often inadequate at different times, and were already creating considerable health problems because of the accumulation of water vapour and harmful chemicals. e.g. Causing mould and the production of dust mite allergens which both aggravate asthma, allowing Volatile Organic Compounds and carcinogenic formaldehyde to accumulate when offgassed from furniture. High CO2 levels in bedrooms compromise healthy sleep. Covid-19 is primarily spread by inhalation, and makes it more urgent that we address ventilation in homes for this and future pandemics, also so that care workers can support older people safely.
