The pandemic as tragic as it is, has shown the ability of our communities to mobilise to tackle community placed based harms, that cannot be covered by the formal structures.
This action takes place through people adopting novel structures outside the government structures. An example of this is self-managing organisations, such a Buurtzorg (social care) and authors:
– Gary Hamel in Humanocracy
– Mariana Mazzucato in Mission Economy
The reason for highlighting this is that if we are to tackle the climate crises action will have to stem from our communities, be that cities, towns or river catchment areas – only mobilisation at this level will support communities to rediscover and project the planet. This needs to happen across the global and all communities.
