Prize

The Heywood Foundation has run two major public policy prizes, receiving 2600 entries, 100 of which were for the youth section.  Many ideas came out of the prizes and a number of these have been implemented by the government. For example the NHS Reserve Force. The overall winning submission from 2021 suggested an NHS “Reserve Army” in response to the capacity issues in the NHS. This suggestion was picked up by NHS England and The NHS Reserve Programme launched in March 2022.

Another prize is not currently planned but one may be run in the future.
