Impact on the lower class

In the ideas following they are solutions to the problems presented. It also includes other solutions that would have aided the social issue of the lower class before the COVID-19 pandemic and that now can aid them be more financially stable during and after the pandemic. In terms of temporary solutions, food vouchers being used for children eligible for free school meals should be extended temporarily for other people in need during the duration of the pandemic if needed. Especially to children in exceptional cases who are from low-income families and not eligible for free school meals or any other benefit due to one reason or another which are to be inspected. The food voucher should also be extended to offer it to those who are not eligible to the furlough or any alternative who are struggling with their income which by providing food should help alleviate some of those financial issues. Food vouchers are deemed as the inexpensive and overall better alternative between them and the food parcels and will prevent further issues and backlash that the food parcel’s poor quality has received. The lower class are more likely to be paid furlough if eligible and are less likely to be paid sick pay if they become sick, which means that they would have more trouble essentially being financial stable as they can be. In aid to this, the minimum wage should be increased to meet the basic minimum living expenses and to be able to not be financially strained helping those who are on the furlough and are still struggling as the expenses would begin to accumulate. In addition to this, the sick pay should be increased and employers being able to offer more sick pay to those who need it which would be useful during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
