My solution is in reference to the challenge: How to restore confidence in the Care Home system and encourage potential New residents that they’re safe. While I do not have any objection to restoring confidence in the Health care home system,I have cause to believe that though It might be safe, but potential residents might feel uncomfortable or even get paranoid especially as regards the Covid-19 virus which is what my solution seeks to address. The Idea Involves creating a form of technological device that makes each individual have access to healthcare from the comfort of their homes that way only those who’re in dire need of hospital treatments such as Accident Emergencies or even surgeries would have reasons to visit the Hospital. You’ll agree with me that though building mobile Applications may be a very good option,however it is still quite limited as some individuals would complain about lack of concentration due to the pop-up notifications they receive on their phones every minute which can serve as a form of distraction when having a doctor’s appointment. But creating a technological device which I named the Health wrist band which would solely be used for accessing health care and when you pick it up you know it’s a device for health care would be more suitable. It’ll have a Large screen with a band attached to each side of the screen so as to be able to strap it on the wrist and also a webcam on the topmost surface of the screen which can be used to serve the preference of each patient as they can either opt for a Video or Voice Call during their appointment. The reason I’ll rather call it a Wristband rather than a wrist watch is because that might put people off,as they’ll tell you they’ve no regard for having two watches on their wrists, but if you put it in such a way that it is just a band that can also double as a wrist watch as it has the features of a wristwatch such as Date and Time coupled with other health care facilities,More people would likely be drawn to it. This Band will feature several health care professionals such as Surgeons,Dietitians,etc. This band will solely be used for the purpose of accessing health care especially for those who are scared of visiting the hospital due to the virus and the elderly ones also. Upon activating your band, Your medical indices such as Height ,weight,Family history and any other medical record would be collected for each individual and placed into a file which will aid the health professional when attending to a patient will be safely stored and prevented from hacks or malware, Considering the fact that Hospitals might not want to disclose their patient’s information,as it is confidential which is quite understandable and that is why I’m proposing the system has it’s own medical records of each patient. As much as any thing,There will be room for follow up for each patient to check up on them after each appointment .Also,there’ll be a feature on the Health band which will automatically remind each patient who books an appointment,the aim of this feature is to remind each patient of their appointment time and Date even when they forget and it can be modified in such a way that each patient can be allowed to customize their alarm tune to whatever they feel like. Also,I’ll propose that the Health band doesn’t feel too heavy on the wrist,A lightweight sort of thing as no one likes anything that would be of inconvenience to them. There’ll also be medical facts and tips splattered all over the screen to help each patient even when they’re not making use of their band,Such that once they turn it on,a health tip comes on and even a personalized one at that,from their register where their names can be gotten. That way they’re most likely to feel compelled to making use of it always. There’ll Also be room for each patient to make their health payment just by inputting their bank code and they’ll be debited .Also for those who’ll be prescribed drugs by pharmacists,there can be a collaboration with pharmaceutical firms to help patient’s get drugs at a reduced rate. Also,I’ll suggest that the Band comes with an already registered Sim for each patient which can be used to access health professionals that way they won’t have to wait on the queue just to register their Sim which can be a huge turnoff. This Health band,will also have options for those who don’t have access to proper internet connection and such that once they dial a code on their band,they can have access to the healthcare professional,that way everyone is properly taken into consideration especially for those living in remote areas and they have to drive a long way before they can access the health care center or hospital. Also,I’ll propose the Device also has a feature of a stopwatch which can help measure the amount of runs as everyone loves a sporting activity such as running or even walking,this way their need is well catered for. I’ll also propose,that the device comes with a wireless ear piece which can be used for convenience sake especially if one is in a crowded location. There’ll also be room for feedback such that after using the device,you can rate the performance to ensure proper improvement. I believe this innovation has the interest of the entire public at heart and if it can be made affordable and accessible which are the two things people look for in a product,there’ll be a massive turnout and other areas or countries might even start to adopt the idea. Also,through proper Analysis and Intervention I believe it will go a long way.
