More home grown produce for healthier living and to support local producers and cut our carbon foot print. I have written to my MP, Defra, various ministers in the past, to ask for the acres of roof space on warehouses, factories, super markets etc etc to be used in future for solar panels. Business may need an incentive to do this but to use good agricultural land for the purpose of accomadating acres of solar panels is madness. I understand there is a large area of land near Cambridge that is going through the planning stages for this purpose at the moment. We should be growing fresh food not electricity!
Post covid we need to think very carefully about how we can improve healthier living for all and what could be simpler than making industry pay for their use of electricity by having solar panels on their roof space.
