One of the positives emerging from Covid is increased awareness and understanding of community, volunteering and neighbourly actions. Mutual support networks have sprung up in response to local needs and a variety of ‚’key worker‚’ jobs and functions have won new respect for their critical functions. There‚’s possibly greater awareness now, than for a generation, of the role individuals play in knitting the social fabric of the country, and the challenge is to build this into something sustainable before the moment passes. For there will surely be paramount need for a more solid social infrastructure to pick up the pieces exposed and left behind by the pandemic.
