A need for collective mourning and collective celebration when Covid is gone

So many people have lost loved ones during this pandemic. Many of those have not even been able to attend the funerals of those loved ones. People have lived in isolation unable to see friends and family. Shops, pubs, leisure and hospitality venues have been closed. The entertainment industry is on its knees. People have worked full time jobs while home schooling. Others have lost their livelihoods completely. Students and school children have suffered greatly too. When all of this is over, the country will need to mourn as a nation, as well as celebrate the hard work of the emergency services and civil servants who worked tirelessly to keep the virus at bay.
