Database of volunteers to be contacted again for other moments of pressure on the community.

Three-quarters of a million people volunteered to help the NHS but many of them were never called up.

Who were they? Who they were- their age/ qualifications and suitability could be or have been (?) logged by local communities or hospitals for any future need for help.

Councils could use this database for all sorts of emergencies where a shortage of personel is causing

problems. Schools short of teachers, supermarkets short of delivery drivers, businesses needing specific skills could use this database when needed.

Or local councils could start collecting such a database of volunteers now through social media, council websites and websites such as Nextdoor.com to gather a local list to call on.
