Addressing Homelessness

As a direct result of Covid-19, hotels were made available to rough sleepers to help prevent the spread of the virus. In doing so, the Government acknowledged the homeless by their potential to spread infection and acted efficiently to protect society at large.

This was a temporary fix for them however and not likely to be repeated, even through another lockdown and freezing winter months. It proved that action can be taken to support the homeless and should be again permanently (not necessarily in hotels).
